Ruth's first RV camping trip was 3 weeks spent touring Scotland long ago. She fell in love with the country, the camper and the driver. Since then they have spent many wonderful hours travelling around Europe together. She has always enjoyed camping and has stayed in many beautiful places in the United States. She has pitched a tent in the mountains, on the beach and in old growth forests. She has eaten sand, fought off legions of mosquitoes and slept in her car to avoid bears. Now she loves RV camping! She can sleep in a comfortable bed, cook in an equipped kitchen, use her own bathroom and just hang out on the sofa with a good book.

Her experience with American campgrounds did not prepare her for camping in Europe. She did not know how luxurious campgrounds could be. She found that it is like staying at a resort, with swimming pools, clean and well equipped bathrooms and showers, laundry facilities, and pubs and restaurants. All the comforts of home, usually within easy walking distance of lovely villages and tour destinations. Of course you could stay in a hotel, but it's better to enjoy the freedom of movement and the privacy of having your own space. It's also much cheaper, which leaves more money for shopping and touring!
