Hotel
A hotel near the city of Mannheim is your first destination in Germany. It is located in a wonderful medieval village. Because several excursion destinations such as world-famous Heidelberg are within easy reach we include some nights at a hotel before we hit the road. The spacious rooms have a a classic interior and are equipped with cable TV, telephone, free Wi-Fi and modern bathrooms. You can expect an extensive, hot & cold breakfast buffet.
Campgrounds
Campgrounds in Europe are normally quite modern and have everything you need. You can expect an electrical hook-up, a dump station, clean facilities, washers and dryers and friendly staff. Many of them have small shops, even restaurants and often you can pre-order bread and rolls for your breakfast the next morning. Most have Wi-Fi access; sadly some of them charge for that extra service. We always try to choose campgrounds within walking distance to our tour destinations. If this is not possible we use public transport. It's as simple as that. Whenever possible we try to avoid campgrounds visited by the masses; some of our stopovers are campgrounds at charming working farms. Nevertheless, their service is splendid.
