The Classic Tour

2020: 8 April - 7 May & 25 July - 23 August

Two great chances to discover Europe

In summer, Europe is buzzing and you'll meet travellers from all over the world. Our tours in autumn or spring are for those who prefer the after-season atmosphere with still warm temperatures and that certain easy-going feeling. But you will never feel rushed, because we have a lot places on our itineraries which are off the beaten track and will deliver photos you won't find everywhere.

You will...

… get the most out of famous European regions like the German Wine Route, the Rhine river valley, Bavaria, the Black Forest, the Alsace region of France and the Italian Tyrol, just to name a few.

You'll cross the snow-capped Alps between Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria on breathtaking roads, follow country lanes through pretty villages lined with half-timbered houses and cruise lakes and rivers along legendary mountain ranges and steep cliffs. You'll get to know locals and celebrate with them. You'll dodge razor-sharp swords, listen to the trumpet echo from dramatic cliff faces and follow in the footsteps of a lunatic king. You will enjoy views from lakefront coffee houses and the rustic atmosphere of traditional Bavarian and Swiss inns.

But most of all you will discover hidden treasures, because you won't just follow the crowds. And at most of the places we visit we have several wonderful alternatives for experiencing local life.

Some highlights: Historic Heidelberg; traditional life & cuckoo clocks in the Black Forest; the Rhine Falls; haggling with medieval traders while having a glass of mead; the Rhine valley; castles & stone age villages; boat trips in Italy & Germany; exploring the hinterlands of the Alsace; pass roads through the Alps; living history explained by experts and much, much more.
